The Collegiate Shag (or "Shag") is a partner dance done primarily to uptempo swing and pre-swing jazz music (185-200+ beats per minute). It belongs to the swing family of American vernacular dances that arose in the 1920s and 30s.

Shag had a strong revival and bloomed all over the world after Steve and Chanzie's legendary performance at Rock That Swing Festival 2013.

Now they gather local LA shag legends to their own festival to enrich and broaden the knowledge of shag dancers worldwide.

Let’s do this!! No dance experience required. It doesn’t matter if you have never taken a dance class before or if you are an experienced dancer who is just new to Shag. This track will start at the very beginning ensuring that you learn the technique, basics and soul of Collegiate Shag.
